Scrum Master is the project manager and coach for an Agile Team. The SM role's primary responsibility is to do what it takes for a self-organizing, self-managing team(s) to achieve the sprint goal and PI Objectives. The SM is the expert in not just implementing a framework but solutions to achieve the benefits of agile ways of working. The objectives are:
self-organizing, self-managing team(s)
high quality, high value, frequent releases
effective and efficient delivery
measurable and transparent metrics for flow, value, DevOps practices
grow and mature lean agile ways of working throughout the organization
Summary Responsibilities
Provide visibility into development progress and overall project status by creating and maintaining metrics and reports.
Foster a collaborative environment and owns the maturation of a self-managing, high performing team(s).
Increases the team focus and decreases nonvalue-added activities or actions
Establish, prepare and facilitate all team events for the engineering team.
Teach the engineering team effective estimation practices.
Assist the engineering team in breaking down work into manageable tasks and estimating effort.
Work with Product team to ensure the backlog is well-refined and prioritized.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings: including scheduling, the creation of meeting agendas and minutes, and driving completion of action items.
Identify dependencies, impediments and potential risks early, implement mitigation strategies.
Actively manage dependencies and establish relationships with dependent teams to ensure timely resolution of dependencies
Implement, reinforce and explain the "why" behind the team rules - such as Scrum, XP, WIP limits, DoR, DoD and any other process rules the team has agreed.
Lead team efforts in relentless improvement - Help the team improve and take responsibility for their actions and team improvements.
Facilitate and teach problem-solving techniques and help the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.
Organizes and facilitates root cause analysis workshops.
Teach, Coach and Mentor Product Owner. PO manages value. SM manages delivery.
Demonstrates expertise in identifying agile anti-patterns and proven success in providing solutions and results in changing the mindset, behavior and influences that cause them.
Provide strategic insights to the management team and continuously refine delivery methodologies and frameworks to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and overall project success
Supports the Scaled Agile adoption across the ART and Org - conducts trainings, leads improvements and participates in the CoP.
Owns preparation and readiness for ART events
Demonstrates an invested interest in the solution, the team and organization's goals.
Learn and speak to what the team is building and the business impact it will create.
Understand the technology stack of the solution - not a technical, deep understanding but can explain how the solution works and the general architecture.

Bachelors degree required. 7+ years experience performing in multiple agile roles in software development.
SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or other leading agile certification is required.
2+ years of experience at large organizations or Fortune 500 companies preferred.
Ability to be in St. Louis, MO AHQ up to three days a week.
When remote, camera on for all Teams meetings.
In person for the week of PI Planning.
In person for important meetings and facilitations.
