Description:
Role: Electrical Engineer
Type: Contract (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Boise, ID (Hybrid - 1 to 2 days onsite per week)

About the Role

Join our team as an Electrical Engineer supporting one of the world's most advanced manufacturing facilities. In this role, you'll serve as the Owner's Representative, providing engineering oversight and design review for complex building electrical systems. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of cutting-edge industrial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Electrical Engineering Owner's Representative on behalf of the client.
  • Review and provide feedback on electrical and I&C design packages, specifications, and drawings.
  • Oversee engineering and design of facility power distribution, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70 (NEC), IEEE standards, and client specifications.
  • Perform site punch walks and interact with subcontractors and construction personnel.
  • Support specification and selection of electrical equipment and hardware.
  • Conduct calculations for voltage drop, arc flash, short circuit current, and load flow using SKM PTW, EasyPower, or similar tools.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 10+ years of experience in building electrical systems design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to obtain Idaho licensure.
  • Proficiency in PLC, DCS, and controls applications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Experience reviewing vendor submittals and field coordination.


Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with semiconductor manufacturing tools or cleanroom environments.
  • Familiarity with I&C deliverables (P&IDs, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, control narratives).
  • Experience with instrumentation specification and control panel design (UL508A).
  • Knowledge of network design and backbone layout.
  • Proficiency in Revit, BIM, and AutoCAD.
  • Passion for innovation, learning, and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.


Additional Requirements
  • Work Location: Hybrid role based in Boise, ID. Onsite presence required 50% of the first month, then one week per month thereafter.
