About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Management Consultant to support complex, large-scale data initiatives. In this role, you will consult on strategic data management efforts, analyze multifaceted data challenges, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions. This position requires a strong foundation in business and data analysis, with an emphasis on data governance and quality over technical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and consult on complex data management initiatives with broad organizational impact.
- Analyze and resolve large-scale, multi-dimensional data challenges involving novel or intangible factors.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current processes, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and document business requirements, process flows, and data flows.
- Perform data profiling, validation, and analytics to support decision-making.
- Write clear and actionable user stories in JIRA within an Agile environment.
- Support data governance efforts including metadata management, data lineage, and control frameworks.
- Coordinate work efforts across teams and manage deliverables to meet project timelines.
- 5+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management, or equivalent experience through consulting, training, military service, or education.
- Proven experience in requirements gathering, data analysis, and business process improvement.
- Strong SQL skills, including joins, unions, and sub-queries.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and writing user stories in JIRA.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Teradata and RDBMS platforms.
- Background in financial services or related industries.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data quality, and issue remediation.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
