We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer for one of our clients in the federal sector to lead enterprise network initiatives. This is an onsite, full-time role based in the DC area, offering the opportunity to manage and modernize a large-scale Cisco network infrastructure supporting critical government operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Manage and maintain Cisco-based enterprise network infrastructure.
• Lead network discovery to assess architecture, inventory (model, serial numbers, software versions), and lifecycle (EOL/EOS) data.
• Develop custom tools and Python scripts to automate network discovery and configuration tasks.
• Create and update network documentation, including diagrams and topology maps.
• Provide expert-level recommendations based on network architecture and performance.
• Offer informal training and knowledge transfer to client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and federal contacts in a secure environment.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience deploying and maintaining Cisco network environments.
• Active Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
• Proficiency in network scripting and automation using Python.
• Strong understanding of enterprise network architecture, fundamentals, and management platforms.
• Must be currently residing near the Washington DC metro area.
• Must hold an active DoD Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience working with firewalls in enterprise or federal environments.
• Familiarity with federal network standards and compliance requirements.
