Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Planner to work onsite in Huntsville, AL.

Summary:

The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing plans, Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and visual documentation to define and support the as-built configuration of products. This position supports supplier integration and evaluates processes, materials, data, and technologies to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing supplier data to ensure compliance with manufacturing requirements.
  • Identifying tooling needs and initiating orders based on engineering and production specifications.
  • Supporting tooling disposition activities.
  • Investigating and resolving manufacturing issues within defined scope.
  • Assisting in reproducibility assessments for part and product designs.
  • Contributing to design and process improvements to meet cost and schedule targets.
  • Developing work statements and event sequencing to support delivery commitments.
  • Supporting the review, maintenance, and monitoring of internal documentation.
  • This role operates under general supervision and collaborates across engineering, production, and supplier teams.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in a related discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing planning and production support.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of standardized manufacturing processes, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • STEM-focused Associate's degree.
  • Experience with Model-Based Design and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with MESci or similar manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems (e.g., CompassContract).
  • Proficiency in CAD software suites and engineering management databases (e.g., Windchill).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
