Job Details
Cryogenic Integration Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior)
Company:
The Boeing Company
The Boeing Company is looking for a Cryogenic Integration Engineer (Associate, Mid-Level or Senior) based out of Huntington Beach, CA.
Within BR&T, Boeing's Microelectronics Technology (MET) performs microelectronics technology development and design for aerospace systems. We develop digital, analog, and RF Systems on Chip (SoCs) for radar, navigation, electronic warfare, communications, processing, and other electronic systems. These systems are used on Boeing airborne, terrestrial, and satellite platforms. MET has numerous microelectronics projects, funded both by internal Boeing customers and external Government Science and Technology (GS&T) customers, and is nationally recognized in aerospace microelectronics design communities.
At MET, we're looking for someone to join a team committed to understanding and improving state-of-the-art SoC and ASIC designs for Quantum Systems Microelectronics (QSM), a part of the Disruptive Computing and Networking (DC&N) venture. We are bringing novel electronic test systems online and need individuals capable and interesting in 1) standing them up, 2) improving designs and processes and 3) integrating working solutions into larger systems.
Ultimately, candidates who are capable and interested in bridging another field of study including physics, mechanical engineering, software engineering and systems engineering as part of the natural innovation process will be most successful in this role. Electrically testing said designs will be part of the work as will analysis and interpretation of the data. Helping to plan improvement implementation for cryogenic test setup and integrated systems alike will also be
required.
The successful candidate will be one who is capable of conceptualizing at a very high level and subsequently executing with extreme attention to detail all rooted in first principles of cryo-physics, circuit design, sound mechanical engineering and well thought out test automation.
An interest in quantum systems is also a plus. We find that candidates interested in some of the charters of DC&N are the most motivated and engaged. An eagerness to advance the state-of-the art is also a major plus.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in the lab, setting up and characterizing key test components as much as they do simulating expected behavior of new cryogenic systems or whiteboarding novel integration solutions with teammates.
