Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our elite team supporting a critical government program. This role demands a seasoned cybersecurity professional with deep technical expertise, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to national security.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security architectures for complex, distributed systems operating in high-security environments.

Security Clearance Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship required

Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with FS Polygraph
Responsibilities:
-
Conduct technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations
-
Validate and verify system security requirements and develop secure system architectures
-
Design and integrate IA/security systems across multi-enclave environments with varying classification levels
-
Collaborate with system architects and developers to embed security functionality into system designs
-
Lead risk analysis, threat mitigation, and security planning throughout the system lifecycle
-
Review and provide feedback on Certification & Accreditation (C&A) documentation
-
Evaluate and test security solutions, software, and configurations to ensure compliance and effectiveness
-
Serve as a subject matter expert in security architecture, policy enforcement, and compliance strategy

Participate in Agile development processes, including Program Increment Planning and sprint activities
Basic Qualifications:
-
Twenty (20) years of experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

OR
-
Eighteen (18) years with a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline

OR
-
Sixteen (16) years with a Bachelor's degree in the above fields

OR
-
Twenty-four (24) years with no degree (4 additional years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's)

DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 3 is required
-
CISSP and ISSEP certifications required
Demonstrated Expertise In:
-
Risk Management Framework (RMF)
-
Security policy formulation and assessment
-
Vulnerability testing and mitigation
-
Security tools such as Nessus, NMAP, Wireshark
-
Secure OS configurations and system hardening
-
Full system security engineering lifecycle
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments
