Job Details

SUMMARY:
As our Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, you will play a core part in our founding team, shaping the product and technology from the ground up. Our main engineering challenge is to develop a real-time data platform that can ingest, process, store, and analyze data from thousands of autonomous and semi-autonomous marine systems. This system must seamlessly handle a wide variety of sensors, hardware interfaces, data sources, and AI-driven analytics, all with military-grade security and robustness. You will work directly with the CTO on these projects.

MUST HAVES:

• Docker
• Distributed systems architecture
• MQTT or similar systems
• Ability to deploy into the cloud
• ITAR Compliant

NICE TO HAVES:

• Any sort of satellite fleet management, ground SW engineer-related work. Telemetry systems experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to develop features across the stack, from embedded systems deployed in the field to cloud-based data pipelines and user-facing interfaces.
• Lead the development of reliable, scalable systems that support real-time data collection and analysis.
• Drive technical decisions and contribute to the evolution of our software stack.
• Actively seek feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve the user experience.
• Provide mentorship and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
• Become the go-to expert for all challenges encountered.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in full stack development.
• Experience (or interest) in autonomous systems, defense tech, or related fields.
• Proficiency in developing high-volume data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and edge processing.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, React, C/C++, etc.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience working with embedded systems.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Strong experience with database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and real-time data processing.
