IT Concepts is seeking a Assistive Technology Support who will support several projects at a federal agency. The position is located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified candidate should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with sharp attention to detail.

The Office of Hardware Engineering (OHE) is responsible for ensuring that the agency provides appropriate AT and other productivity tools to meet user requirements and remain in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. In addition, Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers in electronic and information technology (E&IT) to people with disabilities. Section 508 applies to all Federal Agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use E&IT. OSOHE\DRMA is responsible for the acquisition of and successful distribution of AT for EWD at the SSA.

Responsibilities:
  • Process new Reasonable Accommodation Requests (RA) from the Center of Accessibility and Disability Services (CADS).
    • Create an order for each RA.
    • Confirm information is correct with EWD's site.
    • Order hardware from the depot
    • Enter software orders to the ATOrders Access Database
    • Follow up on shipping and installation progress.
    • Confirm RA has been provided.
    • Close order
  • Process and resolve new Help Desk Incidents assigned to ATCT in CAPRS
    • Create an order for each Help Desk ticket.
    • Confirm information is correct with EWD's site.
    • Order hardware from the depot
    • Enter software orders to the ATOrders Access Database
    • Follow up on shipping and installation progress.
    • Confirm RA has been provided as requested.
    • Close order in CAPRS
  • Process other AT orders as needed.
    • Relocation orders
    • ILM Orders
    • Recovery Orders
  • Track Hardware Inventory
  • Create cost analysis spreadsheets.
  • Research new products and software packages that could significantly improve AT device environments at SSA.
  • Communicate and attend meetings with OHE team members and other SSA components.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 or more years of experience
  • Experience with Order entry
  • Experience Tracking systems-CAPRS or other systems
  • Experience with Assisted Technologies and systems
  • Experience with Help desk support work.
