We are seeking a seasoned and inventive Senior Applied Scientist to join our AI research and development team. In this role, you will lead the development and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning models that power critical identity intelligence applications, including fraud detection, background screening, and risk mitigation. Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll work closely with a collaborative team of scientists and engineers to drive innovative, scalable AI solutions that improve accuracy, performance, and real-time decision-making.

Responsibilities
– Design, develop, and optimize AI and deep learning models to solve challenges in identity verification, risk management, and fraud prevention
– Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to define technical goals, translate customer needs into scalable solutions, and deliver high-impact models
– Implement advanced techniques in supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised learning, with a focus on graph neural networks, reinforcement learning, and entity resolution
– Apply deep learning methods to large-scale data to generate insights and predictive models that power core platform features
– Stay current with the latest AI research and incorporate best-in-class techniques to improve system accuracy and efficiency
– Present findings and strategy recommendations to internal teams and leadership

Qualifications
– Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field, or equivalent industry experience with deep expertise in machine learning and deep learning
– 3–6 years of applied AI research experience, with demonstrated success delivering production-grade solutions at scale
– Strong programming skills in Python or C++, and hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks
– Proven experience with graph neural networks, deep learning architectures, and scalable ML systems for large datasets
– Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a history of technical publications or thought leadership
– Innovative mindset with the ability to develop novel AI solutions and translate research into real-world impact
