Job Summary:  THIS ROLL IS FULL TIME IN OFFICE AND THERE ARE NO OPPORTUNITIES FOR REMOTE OR HYBRID EMPLOYMENT
As a Senior Firewall Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete administration of Fortinet firewalls, ensuring the security and integrity of our clients' networks. This role encompasses the full lifecycle of firewall management, including configurations, installations, policy management, and secure VPN implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Firewall Administration:

    • Configure, install, and maintain Fortinet firewalls.
    • Manage firewall policies, rules, and access controls to ensure optimal security posture.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits of firewall configurations and policies.

  • Security Management:

    • Implement and manage secure VPN solutions for remote access.
    • Monitor firewall logs and alerts to identify and respond to security incidents.
    • Perform threat analysis and vulnerability assessments to enhance security measures.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of firewall configurations, policies, and procedures.
    • Generate reports on firewall performance, security incidents, and compliance status.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with IT and security teams to develop and implement security strategies.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and staff.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay updated with the latest Fortinet technologies and cybersecurity trends.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications:

 

  • Certifications:

    • Fortinet Certified Network Security Engineer (FNSE) or equivalent.
    • Fortinet Certified Security Expert (FCE) is a plus.
    • Additional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CISM are highly desirable.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in firewall administration, with a focus on Fortinet products.
    • Proven experience in configuring and managing firewalls in a corporate environment.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of Fortinet firewall technologies (e.g., FortiGate, FortiManager).
    • Proficiency in VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
    • Familiarity with network protocols and security standards (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
    • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools is a plus.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
