Our end-client is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Desktop Engineer II to manage and support key systems and software used across the organization. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a seamless IT environment by providing top-tier support and fostering strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and leadership. You will be responsible for managing support tickets, driving resolution through our helpdesk system, and contributing to our broader workstation strategy, which includes setting technical standards, enhancing automation, and evaluating performance.


Key Responsibilities:




  • Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting to internal users.




  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, and printers.




  • Manage antivirus tools and lead threat detection and resolution efforts.




  • Conduct security checks and perform vulnerability assessments.




  • Administer user accounts within Active Directory and Exchange.




  • Plan, test, and implement software and operating system updates.




  • Build and deploy images and application packages for both macOS and Windows.




  • Develop and roll out improved workstation systems and enhancements.




  • Analyze current system performance and recommend optimization strategies.




  • Maintain accurate documentation of workstation setups and configurations.




  • Ensure all service tickets are updated with detailed logs and user communication.




  • Stay current on new technologies and evaluate relevant software or hardware tools.




  • Participate in other initiatives or special projects as assigned.






Required Qualifications:




  • 3+ years of experience in a Tier 2 desktop support position.




  • Proficient in advanced troubleshooting and end-user device management.




  • Strong experience supporting both macOS and Windows environments.




  • Hands-on expertise with JAMF for at least 3 years.




  • Ability to diagnose and repair hardware and peripheral issues.




  • Familiarity with security protocols, virus response, and firewall systems.




  • Background in workstation architecture, software deployment, and IT best practices.




  • Demonstrated ability to lead system upgrades and IT infrastructure improvements.




  • Skilled at developing scalable processes around system maintenance.




  • Strong organizational and time-management skills in fast-paced environments.




  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.




  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.




  • Apple certifications (ACSP or ACMT) are a plus.
