Job Overview

Huntington Bank is seeking a Data Analyst / Scientist to join their team in Columbus, OH. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, technical expertise in data science and visualization, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to drive data-informed decisions, improve customer experiences, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

This is an onsite position with contract-to-hire potential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Synthesize data from analytics tools into actionable insights regarding customer behavior, digital sales, servicing performance, and value delivery.

  • Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership.

  • Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives, providing opportunity analysis, measurement plans, dashboards, and post-release/testing analysis.

  • Extract and analyze data using Python, R, and/or SAS.

  • Develop intuitive, automated dashboards focusing on anomaly detection and actionable data visualizations.

  • Partner with Digital, Marketing, Product, IT, Fraud, and Risk teams to measure initiatives, mitigate risks, and optimize outcomes.

  • Define and track KPIs and success metrics for digital and Omni assets.

  • Apply automation techniques to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of analytics processes.


Basic Qualifications

  • Master s degree in Decision Sciences, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Research, or related STEM discipline and 3+ years of experience in analytics or data science.

    • (PhD candidates may qualify with no prior work experience.)

  • OR Bachelor s degree with 5+ years of analytics or data science experience.


Required Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Python or R.

  • Expertise with Tableau and Tableau Server.

  • Strong SQL programming skills with large database applications (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, SPSS, Teradata, Hadoop).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience applying statistical or machine learning methods in corporate settings.

  • Additional programming experience in Java or C++.

  • Web-based application development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Perl).

  • Experience with web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, IBM Digital Analytics, Webtrends).

  • Familiarity with A/B testing platforms (Optimizely, Adobe Target, etc.), test design, and statistical validation.
