RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Baltimore, MD that is seeking a Data Steward Lead responsible for developing and leading data stewardship activities across the company, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and governance of enterprise data assets. This role drives the execution of data governance policies, establishes data quality frameworks, and fosters collaboration between business units, IT, and compliance teams to ensure enterprise-wide adherence.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and oversee enterprise-wide data stewardship initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic data governance objectives
* Develop and execute data quality frameworks and governance enforcement strategies, ensuring compliance with enterprise policies, regulatory standards, and business needs
* Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for data stewardship, including data accuracy, completeness, lineage tracking, and compliance metrics
* Facilitate governance adoption by engaging business and IT stakeholders, resolving data-related issues, and ensuring governance accountability at all levels
* Enforce data privacy and security policies, collaborating with legal, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to meet regulatory requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)
* Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to data stewards across the organization, ensuring consistency in data handling and governance best practices
* Advocate for data stewardship best practices at the executive level, driving governance maturity across all business functions
* Support governance technology implementations (Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica, Alation) by ensuring effective adoption, configuration, and integration with data processes
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience leading data stewardship efforts across business domains, ensuring compliance with data governance policies
* Experience implementing data governance processes and managing data stewardship tool Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, lineage tracking, and metadata management
* Experience implementing and enforcing data quality standards, data lineage tracking, and metadata management frameworks
* Ability to manage and improve enterprise data stewardship processes, including data quality monitoring, metadata standardization, and issue resolution frameworks
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and ability to apply governance policies within compliance frameworks
* Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across business units, IT, compliance, and data governance teams
* Experience mentoring data stewards and business users, ensuring adoption of governance tools and best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience using Microsoft Purview to manage metadata, enforce data stewardship policies, track data lineage, and enable governance automation across the organization's data assets
* Ability to configure and optimize Purview for automated data classification, governance workflows, and role-based access control (RBAC) to streamline data stewardship operations
* Proficiency in Power BI or similar reporting tools to visualize and report on data quality metrics, data stewardship KPIs, compliance performance, and governance adoption trends
* Ability to build and maintain dashboards that monitor data integrity, policy adherence, and stewardship effectiveness
* Understanding of global data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and ability to translate regulatory requirements into enforceable governance policies and controls within data stewardship processes
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
