Desktop Support Technician

On-Site | Full-Time

Position Overview

This role provides on-site technical support for end users, focusing on installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of desktop hardware and software. The ideal candidate brings strong customer service skills, hands-on technical experience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic network troubleshooting knowledge is also required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person technical support for desktops, laptops, and related hardware.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer equipment and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assist users with account access, system navigation, and general technical questions.
  • Document support activities in a ticketing system and follow established procedures.
  • Provide basic network troubleshooting for connectivity and workstation issues.
  • Support device imaging, deployment, and replacement as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with end users, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work effectively under pressure while managing multiple support requests.

Required Skills

  • Strong customer service and communication abilities.
  • Experience with desktop installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and structured support workflows.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and workstation connectivity.
  • Ability to support common office applications and productivity tools.
  • Experience with device imaging, deployment, and workstation setup.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting modern operating systems in a professional environment.
  • Knowledge of user account management and workstation administration.
  • Ability to provide remote support when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work directly with end users.
  • Candidates with foundational knowledge and strong communication skills will also be considered.

Experience Level

Intermediate - suitable for candidates with hands-on desktop support experience or strong foundational knowledge paired with excellent customer service skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Frankfort, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
