Junior Data Scientist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a highly motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our data and analytics team within the telecommunications domain. This role offers the opportunity to work on real-world data science problems involving statistical modeling, machine learning, and visualization in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in statistics, curiosity to explore large datasets, and a self-starting attitude to drive data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to uncover insights and trends in large datasets
* Design and implement regression models and clustering algorithms to solve business problems
* Develop visualizations using Python libraries such as Plotly, Matplotlib, or Seaborn to effectively communicate findings
* Query and manipulate data using SQL across various data platforms
* Deploy and manage data science workflows on AWS (Amazon Web Services) infrastructure
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and business stakeholders
* Present technical findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Utilize Linux-based environments and write shell scripts to automate data science workflows

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field (including education, internships, and hands-on projects)
* Proficiency in Python for data science applications
* Solid understanding of statistics, regression, and clustering techniques
* Experience with EDA and data visualization tools like Plotly, Seaborn, or Matplotlib
* Strong skills in SQL for data extraction and transformation
* Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, SageMaker, etc.)
* Exposure to Linux, Bash, or Shell scripting in a data science environment
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with a strong sense of initiative and curiosity
* Industry experience or familiarity with telecommunications is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in agile teams and/or with cloud-based data platforms
* Prior exposure to version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker) is a bonus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
