Job Title: Sr Business Systems Analyst

Job Type: Chicago, IL - can be remote for local Interview: Video Interview followed by In-person

General Summary:

Responsible for the collection, definition, and documentation of requirements for projects across the Product Engineering portfolio of products.

Candidate must possess excellent technical, communication, organizational, and analytical skills, along with the ability to work well in both a technical and business environment.

Experience releasing software in an agile environment is required

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Defining current and to-be states within systems, organizational processes or marketing websites, including user interface/user experience components, data governance, workflows, upstream/downstream interfaces and impact and requirements development.
  • Implement advanced strategies for gathering, defining, reviewing and analyzing user development and testing requirements.
  • Create user stories, acceptance criteria and process models to supporting business requirements.
  • Coordinate requirements walk-through and sign-offs with stakeholders to ensure that documentation accurately portrays business needs.
  • Work as a liaison among business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, information, and information systems.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to ensure appropriate test plans are developed. Assist with testing efforts as required.
  • Strong Comprehension and Communication Skills
    • Ability to actively listen during discussions and accurately summarize or paraphrase key points.
    • Demonstrates clear, concise, and effective communication in both verbal and written formats with stakeholders and technical partners.
    • Support communication and UAT to prepare business users for process or system changes.
  • Technical and Data Analysis
    • Ability to evaluate data flows, integrations, and dependencies across systems to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Backlog & Prioritization Support
    • Partner with Product Owners/Managers to refine user stories, prioritize requirements, and ensure alignment to business value.
  • Metrics & Continuous Feedback
    • Track solution effectiveness post-implementation and recommend improvements.
  • Effective Note-Taking and Documentation
    • Capable of capturing accurate, detailed meeting notes and action items for follow-up.
  • Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Communicates effectively and professionally with both business and IT partners to align on requirements, exClienttations, and deliverables.
    • Facilitate resolution of conflicting stakeholder needs, balancing short-term fixes with long-term strategy.

    • Able to interpret business and technical communications to identify required actions, deliverables, and next steps.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, Competencies
  • Minimum 5+ years related experience.
  • Strong contributor in defining roadmaps, lifecycle and analysis of a product or functional area.
  • Advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, problem solving and research skills.
  • Experience in performing product analysis, user study, competitive study, a/b testing, and arriving at product roadmap and feature recommendations.
  • Effective communication skills for writing reports/proposals and delivering presentations; ability to work independently and lead others during projects; in-depth knowledge of the business practices and processes; proficiency with spreadsheets and data base software; as normally obtained through a related bachelor's degree and/or relevant work experience.
  • Extremely high attention to detail and an eagerness to optimize, scale and enrich our systems and processes.
  • Deep understanding and experience in working with the agile engineering process.
  • Ability to seek early feedback from engineering/QA teams & business stakeholders and adjust the product requirements accordingly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to react, analyze and adapt to customer and user needs.
  • Ability to collaborate and develop positive relationships with all cross-functional areas within.
    Qualifications:
    Education and Experience: Minimum
    BS in Engineering, related field or equivalent work experience.
    Education and Experience: Preferred
    MS in the Engineering field or MBA.
