Job Details
We are looking for a seasoned PI Developer with hands-on experience in OSIsoft PI System and strong expertise integrating time-series data into Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will be skilled in designing and optimizing real-time industrial data infrastructure and enabling cloud-based analytics, reporting, and data engineering use cases. This is a hybrid role combining OT/IT integration with modern cloud data architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, configure, and maintain OSIsoft PI System components including PI Data Archive, PI Interfaces, PI AF (Asset Framework), and PI Vision.
- Design and implement PI to Google Cloud Platform integration pipelines, enabling cloud-based data lake ingestion for advanced analytics and ML workloads.
- Work with Google Cloud Platform-native services (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI, etc.) to manage and analyze time-series data.
- Utilize PI Web API, PI SQL Client, or PI to OCS (OSIsoft Cloud Services) for secure, performant data extraction.
- Develop automated ETL/ELT processes to move data from PI to Google Cloud Platform using Python, Apache Beam, or Informatica/Cloud Composer.
- Enable self-service analytics and reporting via Looker, Power BI, or custom dashboards on top of Google Cloud Platform datasets.
- Work with engineering, operations, and cloud architecture teams to define scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.
- Monitor data quality, system performance, and integration health across PI and Google Cloud Platform platforms.
- Support incident resolution, troubleshooting, and documentation of integration architecture.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5 8+ years of hands-on experience with OSIsoft PI System:
- PI Data Archive, PI Interfaces, PI AF, PI Vision, PI Notifications
- PI Web API, PI SDK, or AF SDK
- 2+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform):
- BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Functions
- Strong programming/scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or C#.
- Solid understanding of real-time operational data, SCADA/PLC integration, and industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus).
- Experience designing data ingestion pipelines between on-prem PI and cloud data lakes (e.g., via REST, Web API, or hybrid agents).
- Working knowledge of DevOps and MLOps practices for industrial AI/ML integration is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSIsoft certifications (e.g., PI System Infrastructure Specialist, PI Cloud Integrator)
- Google Cloud Platform certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Cloud Architect)
- Experience with streaming data, event-driven architectures, or real-time dashboards in manufacturing or utilities.
- Exposure to time-series data modeling and cloud cost optimization.
