This Position reports to:
Engineering Manager I
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute mechanical design projects for Medium Voltage MCCs
- Develop detailed drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation for manufacturing and customer use.
- Provide hands-on support to production staff, addressing issues quickly with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for customer inquiries, design reviews, and engineering support.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE, ANSI, UL).
- Participate in design validation, testing, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to optimize product performance and cost.
- Drive innovation through R&D initiatives, contributing to new product development and product improvements
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in medium voltage equipment (MCCs, switchgear, panelboards).
- Experience with product development and R&D processes.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal design, and enclosure systems.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, SolidWorks Composer, Creo, AutoCAD or similar) and PLM systems
- Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and technical standards.
- Experience working in a factory environment or close collaboration with production teams.
- Strong understanding of risk identification and mitigation strategies in engineering projects.
