Job Description:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Microsoft Power BI Analyst/Consultant to join our team in a contract position
. As a Senior Power BI Analyst/Consultant, you will be responsible for guiding our business and leadership on best practices for Power BI visualizations, reports, automation, and maximizing the mobile capabilities of Power BI.
Your role will involve collaborating with data scientists, backend developers, and various stakeholders to deliver impactful data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and thought leadership to the business and leadership on Power BI best practices, visualizations, report development, and automation.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and backend developers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of Power BI solutions.
  • Architect Power BI solutions, considering scalability, performance, and data governance requirements.
  • Design and create visually appealing, well-structured, and user-friendly reports and dashboards.
  • Develop reports incorporating financial data and plant operations information for a petrochemical plant operator.
  • Utilize Power Apps, Power Automate, and other relevant tools to enhance the functionality and automation of Power BI solutions.
  • Extract data from Azure DevOps, Power Steering, and other relevant systems, including ADO (Azure DevOps), to generate insightful reports (experience pulling reports from ADO is a must-have).
  • Ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards in Power BI reporting, including proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and data ingestion techniques.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features, updates, and trends, and actively apply them to enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Conduct training sessions and provide support to users, enabling them to leverage Power BI effectively.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive experience working with Microsoft Power BI, including creating complex reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards.
  • Proven expertise in Power BI solutions architecture, considering scalability, performance, and data governance aspects.
  • Strong understanding of financial data and experience with reporting in the petrochemical industry will be highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and data ingestion techniques.
  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and other Microsoft Power Platform tools is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Power Steering is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
