Job Details

BlueHalo, an AV company, is looking for a highly talented Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team! In this role you will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures Chief Engineer office. Your expertise will be applied across multiple programs developing the next generation of reentry vehicles, rocket motors, and counter measures in support of creating realistic test environments for the nation's missile defense systems.
  • Support the Targets and Countermeasures Engineering team in all aspects of target design, analysis, and test to include requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation (M&S), test analysis and reporting
  • Technical focus areas include creation and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICD), expert analysis of target reentry and launch vehicle system design, and ensuring engineering rigor applied to failure review boards.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team of experts across multiple technical areas to develop engineering analysis and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Review the proposed designs of electrical systems and components for target missile systems, including circuit design, PCB layout, and system integrations
  • Innovate and implement solutions to complex engineering challenges
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of electrical systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and performance standards
  • Develop and execute test plans, analyzing test results to identify and resolve issues
  • Collaborate with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and other team members to integrate electrical systems with other components in the target missile system
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables are met on time
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns
  • Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering and target missile systems
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of target missile system design and performance

Required:
  • Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field with strong preference for Electrical Engineering
  • 12+ years of relevant experience working on missile defense-related or other DoD program / project
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Desired:
  • Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes
  • Experience supporting MDA Flight Test, analysis, and review
  • Experience with the development of rocket motors, ground support launch equipment, and reentry vehicles
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
