Senior Network Security Engineer

Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Salary: $75.00 USD Hourly - $80.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer
This position is onsite in Baton Rouge, LA - MUST be able to make this commute

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize Palo Alto Firewall policies and Panorama configurations.
• Design and implement Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures.
• Administer XSoar and Cortex for security orchestration and automation.
• Maintain and update External Dynamic Lists (EDLs).
• Conduct threat hunting and manage Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
• Develop and enforce Zero Trust policies using Iron Skillet frameworks.
• Configure and manage a variety of switches and edge devices across multiple brands.
• Design and implement network segmentation by business unit using subnets and LANs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience with Palo Alto Firewall policy management.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture and policy enforcement.
• Hands-on experience with threat intelligence platforms and threat hunting.
• Proficiency in network monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response.
• Familiarity with security best practices and cyber incident response processes.
• Experience with Panorama for centralized firewall management.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across hardware and software network components.
• Knowledge of security patching and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Ability to create, modify, and optimize firewall rules to enhance security posture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience aligning firewall policies with organizational security and compliance requirements.
• Ability to investigate and resolve firewall performance and connectivity issues.
• Familiarity with patch management, firmware updates, and software upgrades.
• Participation in incident response and mitigation of security breaches.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus IOS and other Layer 2/3 network devices.
• Ability to resolve network security vulnerabilities and detections.
• Experience with data analysis, application rationalization, and migration planning.
• Familiarity with third-party software migration and IPSEC tunnel creation.
