Description: Senior Site Reliability/DevOps Engineer
About the Role

As a Senior Site Reliability/DevOps Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure and deployment systems across cloud, on-premises, and retail environments. You'll collaborate closely with software engineering teams to automate processes, enhance system reliability, and ensure operational excellence. This role requires a strong foundation in cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and observability practices.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve build environments for development and QA.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and alerting systems across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Ensure system observability, traceability, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, playbooks, and design specifications.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Promote innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure roles.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking (SSH, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), and system architecture.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience supporting high-volume, always-on web applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps, TeamCity).
  • Knowledge of observability tools (ELK, Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Azure Monitor).
  • Experience with infrastructure tools (Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
  • 2+ years managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
  • 4+ years working on high-volume eCommerce applications.
  • Microsoft Azure Certification.
  • Experience in retail or healthcare industries.
Additional Information
  • Location: hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite and remote Fridays.
  • Work Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM EST; flexible for other time zones.
  • Contract Type: 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full-time.
  • Team Structure: Mixed onsite and remote team; shared services model supporting multiple projects.
