Overview & Responsibilities
Our client is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to play a pivotal role in establishing and advancing AI/ML capabilities within a key division of a major health insurance organization. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will design, build, test, validate, deploy, and maintain ML models, initially focusing on synthetic data generation and evolving to optimize critical testing processes. This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to a team embarking on new AI/ML initiatives, collaborating closely with an established enterprise data science team and leveraging cloud platforms like AWS SageMaker and Bedrock.

Key responsibilities include:
Develop, test, and validate AI/ML models using Python and relevant frameworks/libraries.
Work on use cases including synthetic data generation and optimizing testing organization processes.
Deploy and maintain ML models, potentially using MLOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Perform model validation, testing (unit, integration, performance), and performance evaluation.
Utilize AWS cloud ML services, particularly SageMaker and Bedrock.
Handle large-scale datasets using SQL and NoSQL databases.
Collaborate with the internal team and the enterprise AI/ML team for guidance and alignment.
Document model development, validation procedures, and results.
Research and propose new AI/ML techniques and tools.

Required Qualifications
3+ years of strong Python programming experience.
2+ years of hands-on experience building, testing, and validating AI/ML models.
Proficiency with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
Experience with data processing libraries, specifically Pandas.
Experience with AWS ML services, including both SageMaker and Bedrock.
Understanding of model validation techniques and testing methodologies.
Familiarity with DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines for model deployment.
Experience working with large datasets.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Proactive attitude and ability to work collaboratively, potentially taking initiative in a new space for the team.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience specifically with synthetic data generation.
Experience with model testing tools and technologies.
Knowledge of NLP or advanced predictive modeling.
Familiarity with MLOps practices.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
Experience handling both SQL and NoSQL data.
