You Are:

UST is searching for a Java/Python Developer with AWS experience who will develop, refactor, and enhance microservices using Java or Python, emphasizing clean design, testability, and performance.

The opportunity:

Collaborate with risk, quant, and engineering stakeholders to modernize legacy risk applications (credit & liquidity risk) into cloud-native architectures on AWS.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) for automated, repeatable deployments to AWS.

Build robust CI/CD pipelines, deploy services, monitor performance, and ensure operational reliability.

Deliver risk metrics, analytics, and tooling that empower senior management, risk officers, and regulators

Embrace agile and test-driven development practices to deliver high-quality software iteratively and iteratively improve system architecture over time

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need:

Bachelor's Degree or similar experience, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or Communication

Professional software development experience, ideally in financial services or risk-focused domains.

Strong programming expertise and proficiency in designing, developing and testing software in Java or Python

Proficiency in designing, developing and testing enterprise level software applications with a focus on RESTful APIs.

Hands-on experience building or migrating applications into AWS, including microservices, serverless, or containerized components.

Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud deployment best practices

Experience with public cloud environments (AWS Certified Developer or equivalent)

Background in Financial Services or Risk (credit, liquidity, market), data workflows, or analytics is a plus, but not required

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.
