RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Alpharetta, GA that is seeking a Cloud Cybersecurity Architect.
Summary:
The Cloud Cybersecurity Architect will define principles, standards, and design patterns to build secure products and enterprise tools across Kforce's multi-cloud and on-premises environments. The role is specifically focused on securing cloud infrastructure, services, and on-premises systems, while peer architects cover application security, SaaS, and network security. This position requires deep cybersecurity expertise in designing and securing infrastructure in AWS and other cloud platforms, as well as on-premises environments. The architect will collaborate across multiple teams, developing cybersecurity architectural guidelines and secure design patterns for adoption across the enterprise. This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Cybersecurity Architecture at Kforce.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define and recommend cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and guardrails
* Lead cybersecurity working groups within the enterprise architecture organization
* Develop and socialize secure design patterns for cloud and on-premises environments
* Support the development of governance patterns and enterprise-wide architecture policies
* Analyze security risks to information systems and propose innovative mitigation solutions
* Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to ensure efficient and secure release processes
* Partner with business and engineering teams to integrate cybersecurity guardrails early in solution designs
* Participate in security events and incident response to identify and correct design gaps
* Research emerging cybersecurity threats and recommend appropriate technology solutions
* Work closely with cybersecurity peers to ensure vulnerability management, governance, cyber defense, and identity governance are integrated into standards and processes
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; Or Master's degree and 6+ years of experience; Or PhD and 3+ years of experience; Or 12+ years of equivalent experience
* 4+ years of experience directly focused on cybersecurity
* Hands-on expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and services, as well as on-premises environments
* Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
* Experience building collaborative relationships across multiple departments and business units
* Strong consultative skills for working through complex and controversial topics
* In-depth understanding of modern cybersecurity and technology architectures including Zero Trust, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, virtualization, and containerization
* Experience working in Agile environments
* Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., ISO 27000, NIST, FFIEC) and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, GLBA)
Preferred Qualifications:
* Relevant cybersecurity and cloud certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, OSCP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate)
* Strong background in developing cybersecurity best practices across cloud and on-premises stacks
* Relevant experience in DevSecOps, SaaS, application security, and software-defined networking
* Knowledge of IAM, cryptography, secrets management, access control, and security protocols (MFA, SAML, OAuth, OIDC)
* Practical experience with firewalls, web application firewalls, DMZ architecture, and edge services
* Proficiency with AWS Well-Architected Framework and cloud-native design patterns
* Hands-on experience with cloud container and serverless technologies (e.g., EKS, ECS, Lambda, Fargate)
* Big Four consulting or Fortune 500 experience preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
