Job overview and responsibilities
The Director of Engineering Authorization (EA) Planning has overall total ownership of the EA process lifecycle and directing and managing all aspects of EA and Project execution. They work cross functionally across departments within Technical Operations . The Director is responsible for ensuring the team is staffed, trained and developed to meet the objectives of the department. Tactically the Director will ensure all Engineering Authorizations (EA) and associated projects are timely executed in accordance with the maintenance plan, working with (but not limited to): Engineering, Supply Chain, Line and Base Planning, Line and Base Maintenance ensuring resources are available to facilitate execution. Additionally, the Director will develop and implement performance management KPI's and scorecards, establish and implement IT system development plans to improve business processes relative to the function and develop and execute a continuous improvement roadmap for the department.

- Manage and oversee all aspects of EA and Project execution and planning Implement and develop cross functional operating rhythm to execute on EA Implementation
- Responsible for ensuring initial plans and execution rates are established against agreed timelines and budgets
- Partner with Strategic & Line planning functions to establish ATS allocation requirements to facilitate EA execution
- Develop processes and systems to monitor EA implementation status, and lead resolution and corrective actions if programs are not meeting required timescales
- Implements new processes, digital tools and other programs to improve effectiveness of direct and indirect teams
- Partners with Finance, Resource Planning, and Human Resources on staffing and labor matters to ensure adequate staffing levels are met and sustained
- Develops teams and future leaders to the mutual benefit of our employees and the Company
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Aviation Management, Business, or related field) or 10+ years of related experience
- 7+ years of experience in engineering, strategy, planning, forecasting, or maintenance/aircraft scheduling function
- 5+ years of experience of leading frontline and management teams
- Strong background and knowledge of aircraft maintenance systems
- Working knowledge of Maintenance Programs, Aircraft Routing, Aircraft Maintenance Operations, FAA/Regulatory Compliance, and MRO operations
- Must be able to travel

- Be adept in building presentations for senior leadership team, juggling several projects and initiatives simultaneously through appropriate prioritization
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact at all levels (including executive) and team with all internal and external business partners
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
