Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Database Administrator who is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of enterprise-level databases in support of organizational and project-specific data needs. This role serves as the primary database architect for project analytics, focusing on database performance, data integrity, and system reliability. The DBA 1 plays a critical role in managing and optimizing database operations while ensuring compliance with DoD, federal, and internal data governance standards.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Database Administrator who is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of enterprise-level databases in support of organizational and project-specific data needs. This role serves as the primary database architect for project analytics, focusing on database performance, data integrity, and system reliability. The DBA 1 plays a critical role in managing and optimizing database operations while ensuring compliance with DoD, federal, and internal data governance standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain enterprise databases to support project and business operations.
- Serve as the lead database architect for analytics solutions, ensuring efficient data structures and optimized queries.
- Oversee day-to-day database operations, including performance tuning, replication, backup/recovery, patching, and capacity planning.
- Analyze complex data requirements and translate them into scalable, normalized, and secure database designs.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and analytics tools for internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Coordinate with software engineers, data analysts, and project managers to align data infrastructure with business objectives.
- Implement database automation and monitoring tools to ensure high availability and proactive issue detection.
- Ensure compliance with data security policies, DoD/federal security requirements, audit guidelines, and lifecycle management standards.
- Mentor junior DBAs and act as a subject matter expert on all database-related issues and development projects.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning related to database environments.
Basic Qualifications
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in project coordination, project controls, or program support roles.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and budgeting techniques.
- Proficient in using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to track and report on key project metrics such as cost, schedule, scope, and deliverables.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to interpret contract or program requirements and align them with project planning activities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience supporting or leading government or defense contract programs.
- Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and tools.
- Familiarity with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Knowledge of risk management, change control, and resource allocation processes.
- Experience with data visualization and performance tracking tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong understanding of contractual compliance requirements, especially in federal or DoD environments.
- Certification(s) such as: Certified Associate in Project Management (CAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)
