Job Title: Nurse Consultant
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Location: Fully Remote
Schedule: Standard Business Hours (8:00 AM EST Start Time)
License Requirement: Active and in-good-standing LPN State License (required for entire assignment)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Nurse Consultant (LPN) to support the review of Group Life and Disability insurance applications. This fully remote position involves examining medical documentation to determine insurance eligibility. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, medical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a structured virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Statement of Health Applications and medical records to determine eligibility decisions approve, deny, pend, return, or request additional information.
- Ensure quality and accuracy while processing customer applications.
- Conduct thorough and independent research on medical conditions and medications.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and foster positive customer relationships.
- Follow job aids, standard procedures, and supervisor guidance to meet productivity and quality benchmarks.
- Participate actively in training, team meetings, and ongoing feedback sessions.
Training Details:
- Training is fully virtual, starting at 8 AM EST with cameras required to be on.
- 3 weeks of virtual classroom training followed by at least 3 weeks of audit-based training with a reduced schedule.
- Audit period may be extended based on performance and quality standards.
- Access to high-speed, secure internet and a dedicated, quiet work area is mandatory.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with active, in-good-standing state license.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using multiple computer systems and software tools simultaneously.
- Ability to follow structured processes while working independently.
- Demonstrates adaptability, willingness to learn, and ability to accept and implement feedback.
- Previous experience in insurance or clinical settings is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to maintain performance metrics in a remote, high-volume environment.
- Must have a smartphone and reliable, secure high-speed internet access.
- Must be comfortable with being on camera during training and virtual meetings.
- Team player who can operate under guidance from various supervisors within a large team setting.
