Job Title: Infrastructure Project Manager
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid Local Travel Required)
Duration: 6 Months (Tentative)
Position Overview:
A public-sector organization is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Infrastructure Project Manager to oversee critical IT infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. This hybrid role will be primarily remote but requires local travel within Maricopa County for presentations and on-site coordination. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical acumen, and stakeholder management skills to successfully deliver complex projects aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for infrastructure initiatives (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure)
Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables meet deadlines and budget constraints
Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation (plans, schedules, reports)
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while proactively managing stakeholder expectations
Conduct routine project status meetings and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
Apply project management methodologies and tools to drive efficient delivery
Required Qualifications:
5+ years experience managing IT or infrastructure projects
Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and deliver high-quality outcomes
Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall
Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience navigating local government processes or agencies
Technical understanding of hardware, including network switches and infrastructure upgrades
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP certification or equivalent
Knowledge of the ITIL framework and best practices
Prior experience working in remote or hybrid environments
Ability to self-manage and stay organized in decentralized teams
Technical Skills:
Proficient in tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Trello, Asana
Solid understanding of infrastructure components including networking, servers, and storage
Ability to interpret technical documentation and convert into actionable project plans
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to manage change and uncertainty effectively
