Job Details

This 80+ year old Financial Services company has over $65 Billion in assets providing financial assistance for housing and economic development in the communities they serve is seeking a Virtual Desktop Engineer responsible for the configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of the Virtual Desktop environment.

You will be involved in troubleshooting, problem resolution, diagnosing and resolving problems, communicating technical concerns and solutions to provide workable solutions. Serve as the main point of escalation for the IT help desk for VDI related issues and support the IT helpdesk when surges occur. In this role you will work collaboratively across the entire VDI lifecycle as the key member providing stable platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain the Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructure
  • Design, upgrade, test, and modify the VDI environment based on capacity and utilization requirements
  • Troubleshoot and correct detected or reported system faults or outages
  • Problem investigation, troubleshooting and resolution
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for the client services team
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvement opportunities where applicable
  • Maintain security standards, configuration compliance, patch management
  • Manage system infrastructure including Active Directory, Entra, M365 and Nerdio
  • Monitor systems and respond quickly to any usability concerns
  • Assist in integrating new applications and technologies into the current system

BACKGROUND

  • Strong experience in virtualization engineering or Microsoft System Administration with solid experience with Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Experience with Microsoft Server Administration (Hyper-V, Clustering, file services, Endpoint Management)
  • Experience with Active Directory (Domain Services, Group Policy)
  • Experience with Scripting languages (PowerShell)
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center (SCCM, SCOM, Defender Endpoint Protections)
  • Experience with Cisco Network Management
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts
