Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator with 7 to 12 years of experience in Linux, Solaris, virtualization, and cloud platforms. The candidate will be responsible for resolving technical issues, risk mitigation, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple platforms including Red Hat Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and Solaris.
Essential Technical Skills & Competencies:
Certifications: Red Hat Linux Administration certification required.
Strong knowledge of Linux OS (Red Hat), Solaris 11 (zones, ZFS, Zpool).
Expertise in VMware virtualization and cloud platforms such as OpenShift.
Experience with Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster configuration and administration.
Scripting skills: Shell scripting and/or Perl.
Storage management: SAN, NAS, RAID, LVM, NFS, FTP, IPTABLES, DNS, DHCP.
Experience with patch/package management, server hardening, and security.
User management, performance monitoring, capacity planning, troubleshooting hardware & OS issues.
Administration of LVM and Veritas logical volumes and installation/configuration of HA environments.
Experience with backup tools like Actifio, TSM, or equivalent.
Working knowledge of YUM/Satellite Server, Centrify user management.
Familiarity with routing and switching technologies.
ITSM tool experience, preferably with JIRA.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to provide technical solutions and participate in automation and service improvement plans.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with multiple geo-redundant sites and replication technologies.
Knowledge of VRP tools.
Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL), IBM AIX, Oracle Databases, and Network Switches.
Additional certifications in VMware, OpenShift, Docker, or related technologies are a plus.
Prior experience working in DevOps or Agile environments is advantageous.
