Product Owner Provider Healthcare Domain

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for solutions targeted at healthcare providers (e.g., EMR/EHR systems, clinical workflow tools, care coordination, provider credentialing, etc.)

  • Gather and define business requirements in collaboration with clinical stakeholders, SMEs, and end users.

  • Translate complex healthcare requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Prioritize and groom the product backlog to align with business goals and customer needs.

  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI, engineering, QA, and implementation teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis specific to the provider landscape.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Serve as the voice of the customer (physicians, nurses, admin staff) during agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Monitor KPIs and product performance to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner in a healthcare technology environment.

  • 2+ years specifically in the Provider Healthcare domain (e.g., working with health systems, physician groups, ambulatory clinics, or provider-focused platforms).

  • Strong understanding of provider workflows, clinical operations, and health IT standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD, etc.).

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies; Scrum Product Owner certification (CSPO) is a plus.

  • Proficient in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha!, or similar.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, or athenahealth.

  • Experience with value-based care models and population health initiatives.

  • Understanding of interoperability, care transitions, and referral management.
