The Team
The Design Operations Team amplifies creativity and impact at scale by supporting the orchestration of individuals, processes, and tools. We re a small but mighty group of operations and program management experts who strive for operational excellence while upholding Okta s collaborative culture. Our goal is to enable thoughtful and engaging experiences for the Okta Design Team (Product Design, User Research, Content Design, and Design System) so they can deliver the best outcomes and scale our business. The Role
The Design Systems Operations Contractor will be instrumental in defining and implementing operational processes and rituals to support the growth and maturity of our Design System. This role will focus on optimizing workflows, enhancing collaboration, and ensuring the effective use of design system tools.
In this role, you ll get to:
- Define and document operational processes, workflows, and rituals for the Design System team.
- Implement and manage design system tools, including Supernova, Storybook, and Figma, to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure the consistent application of the design system across all products.
- Identify opportunities to improve and scale design system operations.
- Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and best practices for the design system.
You could be a fit if you have:
- 5-6 years of experience in design operations, program management, or a related field, with a focus on design systems.
- Proven experience defining and implementing operational processes, workflows, and rituals.
- Strong proficiency in design system tools such as Supernova, Storybook, and Figma.
- Excellent understanding of design system principles and best practices.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including designers and engineers.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A passion for design systems and a desire to help teams work more efficiently.
- The qualities of a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player with strong organizational skills.
- A diplomatic demeanor: successfully engaging peers and stakeholders.
