As the Principal SAP Basis Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, managing, and supporting a mission-critical SAP landscape that spans various systems and technologies. You'll lead technical strategies, perform lifecycle administration, and ensure system availability, performance, and scalability. This position demands proactive leadership in managing change, incident response, and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on system security, audit readiness, and global collaboration.

responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities


- Administer and support SAP systems across S/4HANA, BTP, PI/PO, Datasphere, SAC, and other SaaS platforms.


- Perform and manage installations, configurations, upgrades, system refreshes, and performance tuning for SAP applications and the SAP HANA database.


- Monitor and optimize system performance; configure SSL, SSO, and Cloud ALM alerts.


- Provide SAP BTP administration and support for CPI and API Management.


- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout development, QA, UAT, cutovers, and go-live hypercare.


- Utilize archiving tools such as SAP OpenText Suite (i.e. xECM, VIM, and OCR).


- Administer NetWeaver (ABAP & Java), SOA Manager, Solution Manager (ChaRM), and Redwood RunMyJobs.


- Configure SAP Web Dispatcher, load balancers, and support SAP Cloud Connectors. - Follow change management best practices using ServiceNow, Solution Manager Quality Gateway Management (QGM), and Cloud Transport Management (CTMS).


- Contribute to change and alert management processes using SAP CALM and Splunk. - Contribute to sizing, documentation, and readiness for SAP migration and cloud transition projects.


- Support continuous improvement, audit assessments, capacity planning, and KPI reporting.


- Participate in 24x7 support rotations and maintain global collaboration with distributed teams.




qualifications:

Required Qualifications


- 9+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience.


- Deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, NetWeaver, and BTP platform administration.


- Proficiency with HANA databases; strong performance tuning and monitoring capabilities.


- Experience with SAP OS/DB migrations (certification preferred).


- Knowledge of managing Service Request (SR) for hybrid SAP environments (cloud/on-premise).


- Experience with SAP SaaS solutions: SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur.


- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, IP management, firewalls, and SSL certificates.


- Comfortable working in both Linux, AIX, and Windows environments.


- Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.


- Previous experience in supporting multiple greenfield/brownfield implementations.


- Ability to work across time zones with globally distributed teams.


Preferred Skills


- SAP HANA DB 2.0 admin tools (XS Admin, Web IDE, HANA Studio, SDA).


- Hands-on experience with IAS, SAML2, and advanced authentication.


- Familiarity with CALM for change and alert management.


- Experience with Early Watch Reporting and Solution Manager integrations.
