Job Details

Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
  1. Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses for critical company functions.
  2. Recommend and implement disaster avoidance and impact reduction strategies.
  3. Coordinate with IT and key personnel to align disaster recovery plans with system configurations.
  4. Direct staff in formulating department-specific recovery plans.
  5. Research emerging products, services, and protocols for contingency planning.
Requisition & Deployment
  1. Interact and negotiate with vendors for protection services/products.
  2. Download and test new disaster recovery software/technologies.
  3. Recommend, schedule, and implement necessary security upgrades or purchases.
Operational Management
  1. Develop disaster recovery procedures for mission-critical business applications.
  2. Coordinate all phases of recovery plan implementation including emergency responses and business resumption.
  3. Implement and enforce disaster recovery and business continuity policies and procedures.
  4. Train staff on emergency and continuity procedures.
  5. Ensure equipment and systems are compliant with recovery plans.
  6. Maintain backups and hard copies of vital data.
  7. Conduct simulations and test runs to refine plans.
  8. Assess and implement necessary security reconfigurations.
  9. Apply fixes, patches, and emergency measures during disruptions.
  10. Select locations for off-site backup storage.
  11. Stay updated on emerging security threats.
  12. Guide and manage junior team members.

Education
  • Master s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
    OR
  • Bachelor s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Required: Certification in Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning (DR/BCP).

Qualifications
  1. Minimum 3 years' experience with design and maintenance of public/government cloud, especially Microsoft Azure (Gov preferred), including IaaS and PaaS (e.g., databases, Kubernetes).
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience managing Windows and Linux servers.
  3. Strong hands-on knowledge of disaster recovery planning.
  4. In-depth understanding of different types of disasters and their IT impact.
  5. Technical expertise in current systems software, hardware, protocols, and standards.
  6. Advanced knowledge of network administration/protocols.
  7. Solid project management capabilities.
  8. Experience with property and casualty insurance.
  9. Understanding of data privacy laws and practices.
  10. Skilled in application migration from on-prem VMware to Azure (Gov preferred).
  11. Familiarity with AWS network technologies.
  12. Knowledge of cloud and data security practices.
  13. Proactive instincts for threat prevention.
  14. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  15. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  16. Ability to prioritize and perform in high-pressure environments.
  17. Team collaboration experience.
  18. High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
