Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Specific Technical skills-
The candidate must have a software development/integration foundation and specifically the competence to perform secure boot integration. The skill set includes experience for:
Secure key management to securely provision keys during the development process and manage private key storage on external devices or in hardware.
Bootloader implementation knowledge of how to write and lock down the bootloader in immutable storage.
Secure firmware updates using cryptology key pairs, digital signatures, certificate chains, and hashing algorithms.
System architecture chain of trust understanding.
Trusted Platform Modules understanding.
Familiar with Linux and Windows operating systems and their security features
CISSP certification is a plus or must be able to get CISSP certified within 6 months of hire.
General Technical skills-
The ideal candidate will have experience with the development of embedded systems for avionics applications.
Strong use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Strong understanding of cyber security specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF) 800-53, security controls, STIGs and other government security specifications and guidelines
Champions security perspective for decisions related to implementing and verifying security controls
Works with Development and Test teams to plan, implement, and support verification of security requirements
Supports the development of the RMF body of evidence for security requirements including items such as system security plans, security testing plans, Security Control Traceability Matrices, and System Impact Analyses.
Strong knowledge of cyber security technology and trends
Strong ability in reporting relevant cyber systems engineering designs
Recognizes and incorporates various security designs and lessons learned
Contributes to the achievement of business objectives
Personal skills
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Able to sell concepts and ideas
Effective in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions as they affect the cyber design and implementation
Regular contact with senior levels of security work groups
Ability to lead security work groups
Works under limited direction
Contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams
Frequent contact with the external customers' security professionals
Strong understanding and ability to apply basic project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Statistical Process Controls
Creative thinker, good multi-tasker
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications
