Description
IES Communications is hiring Level 1 Technicians with the appropriate training and experience to perform Low Voltage, Cabling, Fiber installation projects.
Work will be performed on project sites in commercial environments. Examples of locations - airports, schools, data centers, co-location telecom sites and corporate or commercial buildings.
The Technicians will be required to:
Run and form cabling to meet infrastructure standards
Measure, cut and terminate CAT5, CAT6 and other cabling
Read blue prints and schematics regarding cabling runs and device installation
Specific Installation task include:
Terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks. Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly. Adhere to IES COMMERCIAL labeling standards
Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
Technician will perform and learn to perform:
Testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; use of volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use a tone set.
Identify active voice or data circuits.

Transport - suitable transport to get to job site
Job sites will be in a variety of locations in and around the Atlanta metro area and beyond. Willingness to travel to site is vital to this role. IES are looking for long term new hires who will remain committed to supporting IES projects regardless of location.
Overnight travel is optional for those technicians willing to work out of town. Travel expenses and living expenses will be covered.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
