Oracle Fusion HCM Payroll Functional/Technical Consultant:
Seeking an experienced Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll & Absence Management Consultant with strong technical and functional expertise to support the Payroll Department during the implementation of Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM.
This role will focus on assisting with the successful implementation of the Payroll and Absence Management modules by partnering with Payroll, HR and IT teams to align business and compliance requirements with system functionality to ensure a successful and timely Go Live. This position will serve as a bridge between technical and functional teams, ensuring that payroll requirements are accurately translated into efficient, compliant, and scalable system solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of payroll and have hands-on experience configuring, testing, and supporting Oracle Fusion Cloud Payroll and Absence Management modules, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business processes into effective system solutions. This engagement requires close collaboration with Payroll, HR, IT, and implementation partners to ensure a successful and timely Go Live.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation Support
- Partner with Payroll, HR and IT stakeholders to gather, validate, document and review functional and technical requirements related to Payroll and Absence Management.
- Participate in the design, configuration, testing cycles and deployment of Oracle Fusion Payroll and Absence Management.
- Support configuration and setup of Oracle Fusion Payroll and Absence Management modules, including payroll elements, balances, fast formulas, absence plans, accrual rules and other key system components.
- Assist with data conversion and reconciliation activities.
- Assist with testing and validation activities, including unit, system integration (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT) and parallel testing runs and reconciliation prior to go-live.
- Participate in developing integrations between Oracle Cloud and third-party systems (e.g., time and attendance, benefits, and finance).
- Provide knowledge transfer, end-user support, and documentation to the Payroll Department.
Technical/Functional Expertise:
- Develop and maintain reports and analytics using OTBI, BI Publisher, and HCM Extracts.
- Troubleshoot configuration, data, or interface issues in partnership with IT and Oracle Support by performing root cause analysis and recommending solutions.
- Participate in testing and support defect resolution utilizing Jira.
- Support data migration and conversion activities, including validation and audit of employee and payroll data.
- Support ongoing change management activities.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including configuration guides, user manuals, and process flows.
- Assist with any training and support to end users and stakeholders on Oracle Fusion Payroll and Absence Management functionality.
- Assist with developing test cases for testing to validate configurations.
- Recommend process improvements and configuration optimizations to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Provide Post Go Live support to resolve issues during the transition to Oracle Fusion.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in information systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle HCM Cloud with hands-on expertise in Payroll and Absence Management modules.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, taxation, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with fast formulas, costing, and legislative data group configurations.
- Knowledge of time and labor integration and absence accrual processing.
- Familiarity with Oracle HCM Extracts, APIs, and integration frameworks.
- Experience in at least one full lifecycle Oracle Cloud implementation preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively with Payroll, HR, IT and implementing partner.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced implementation environment.
- Strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and testing best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Cloud HCM Certification (Payroll or Absence Management).
- Prior experience assisting a Payroll department through an HCM transition or system upgrade.
- Proficiency in Oracle reporting tools (OTBI, BI Publisher).
