Description:
Windows AI Selfhost Tech
We are looking for candidates in client laptops/desktops with more hands-on experience in DISM, WinPE, scripting, creating OS images, etc.. working in the lab environment setting up the laptops, systems with/without chassis, Bios/FW/driver updates, running test plan (video/audio/network/USB) and issue troubleshooting. PowerBI/data visualization experience is a plus.
Selfhost setup:
Contractor will be responsible to install device images on all selfhost devices (10-150 units).
Communicate/interface with client Windows OS team and identify and retrieve the early builds of Windows OS as a base.
Communicate with platform software leads and identify collection of drivers, BIOS and applications that need to be added to device image.
Use tools like DISM and WinPE to create and manipulate custom OS images.
Understand how to manage and extract the Windows Driver Store to migrate and install drivers.
Generate basic scripts in PowerShell.
Understand diskpart and storage device provisioning.
Testing:
Download and rum Microsoft ADK for testing.
Run clientSuspend to test sleep, hibernate and reboot cycles.
Run ad hoc testing to reproduce failure scenarios.
Special Units:
Prep devices for demos (special HW configurations, SW and test loads)
Run around client campus troubleshooting, delivering and replacing test devices.
Hardware Management:
Assemble computers, power supplies, memory, processors and other components and get device running.
Read and follow CRB Guides to flash basic firmware to get CRBs working.
Learn/know how to use dediprog to flash SPI components.
Top 3 skills:
Windows OS, hands on debug experience, AI knowledge (beneficial, but not mandatory if they have strong Windows OS and debug experience)
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering would be a nice to have but not a must have
