About the Role:

Are you a hands-on technical professional who enjoys solving complex problems and keeping systems running smoothly?

We re looking for a Field Support Engineer (Senior Level) to join our team in Sacramento, CA.

In this role, you ll install, configure, and support Solutions (such as Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems) and ensure seamless performance for mission-critical systems. You ll handle everything from hardware troubleshooting to software support and play a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction.

This position includes participation in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours system support.

What You ll Do:

  • Install and configure system solutions at customer sites.
  • Provide Level 1 3 technical support for both hardware and software issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Linux and Windows environments.
  • Run and edit scripts (Python, Bash, Shell) to automate and maintain system performance.
  • Retrieve and analyze data using MS SQL queries.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues and interpret network diagrams.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and document all technical activities.

What We re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of experience in field or technical support roles.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux (commands, scripts, file structure) and Windows (logs, services, scheduler).
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Shell.
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL (data retrieval, database connection).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including firewalls, TCP/UDP, and web protocols.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and teamwork abilities.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience with multiple scripting languages.
  • Prior exposure to biometric or proprietary applications.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical or public sector systems.
