Job Title: Senior Payroll Analyst - TEMP
Location: Southlake, TX
Duration: 2 Months (Short-Term Contract)
Pay Rate: $35-$40/hour

Job Summary

A short-term opportunity for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Analyst to lead payroll data analysis, reporting, and compliance efforts. This role is responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy, identifying trends, and supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven insights. Ideal candidates will have deep knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and the ability to clearly interpret and communicate complex payroll data.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies; recommend corrective actions.

  • Prepare and deliver detailed payroll reports for Finance, HR, and executive leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

  • Collaborate with payroll processing teams to support accurate and timely payroll execution.

  • Lead audits of payroll records and assist with internal and external audit processes.

  • Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws and labor regulations impacting payroll.

  • Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation of payroll software.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track payroll performance and compliance.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve payroll processes and efficiency.

  • Mentor junior analysts and participate in cross-functional payroll projects.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll analysis or payroll operations.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).

  • Solid understanding of payroll tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.


Preferred Attributes

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification.

  • Experience with multi-state or international payroll.

  • Meticulous attention to detail with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
