Role: AV Support Engineer (Audio-Visual Engineer)

Duration: 12 Months
Location: Boston, MA (Fully Onsite)

Job description:

A/V Engineer will be responsible for the setup, configuration, management, and maintenance of our meeting room technology infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a strong background in audio-visual technology, Microsoft Teams Rooms, and device management. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supported Software and Security Management Components:
  • Set up and configure Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) on Windows/Android
  • Configure meeting room devices (cameras, microphones, speakers, displays)
  • Manage device settings for optimal performance and user experience
  • Manage Logitech Sync, Microsoft Teams Admin Centre, and Microsoft Teams Pro Portal configurations
  • Schedule regular maintenance for meeting room hardware
  • Perform firmware updates for Logitech and other branded devices
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate repairs or replacements
  • Manage inventory of all meeting room devices
  • Ensure Windows PCs in meeting rooms are up to date with the latest patches and security updates
  • Manage Microsoft Teams software updates and compatibility checks with room systems
  • Implement security policies specific to meeting room PCs and devices
  • Manage antivirus and endpoint security for meeting room PCs
  • Plan and execute the deployment of new meeting rooms
  • Refresh existing rooms with new hardware and software as needed
  • Design room layouts (tech) for optimal video and audio performance
  • Install and configure meeting room booking systems
  • Provide training sessions for end-users on using Microsoft Teams Rooms effectively
  • Create user guides and documentation for troubleshooting common issues
  • Update training materials and documentation as new features or devices are introduced
  • Monitor meeting room device status and health via Logitech Sync and other tools
  • Generate monthly/weekly reports on room usage, device performance, and issues
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving meeting room efficiency
  • Offer a support service for immediate troubleshooting of meeting room issues
  • Provide advanced technical support for resolving complex hardware or software problems
  • Ensure meeting rooms comply with data protection and privacy regulations
  • Securely configure meeting room devices to prevent unauthorized access
  • Review security policies and compliance requirements (monthly)
  • Coordinate warranty services and support contracts with HW suppliers
  • Review meeting room technology and trends for potential upgrades (quarterly)
  • Implement new tools or features that enhance collaboration and productivity
  • Gather and analyze user feedback for continuous service improvement

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in A/V engineering, IT, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms, Logitech Sync, and meeting room technology
  • Strong knowledge of Crestron and Cisco devices is preferred
  • Excellent technical skills, including troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with room booking systems and scheduling tools
  • Knowledge of security policies and compliance regulations
  • Certification in A/V engineering or a related field.
