We are seeking a highly skilled Conversation Design Expert and UX Practitioner to join our team on a contract basis. This role will focus on crafting prompt templates for AI-powered products across multiple industries, including Sales, Customer Service, Commerce, and other Enterprise verticals. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in conversation design, user experience (UX), and a strong understanding of AI-driven interactions. You will collaborate closely with product teams, UX researchers, and developers to ensure that AI interactions deliver optimal user experiences and align with business goals.
Purpose: Outlines the steps and paths a conversation can take based on user inputs. Helps in planning and structuring the interaction to ensure it is smooth and intuitive.
Components:
Design Process: Involves mapping out these components, often using tools like flowchart software or even pen and paper. Helps in visualizing the entire interaction and identifying potential issues or improvements.
In addition to traditional conversational interfaces, this role requires expertise in multimodal conversations powered by generative AI, and the design of experiences for agentic/autonomous agents.
Key Responsibilities:
Design conversational AI experiences and create prompt templates for diverse use cases
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, developers, and AI teams to define and refine AI interaction models.
Develop multimodal experiences that seamlessly integrate text, voice, images, and other forms of interaction, ensuring a cohesive user journey.
Create and optimize prompt templates for generative AI models to handle complex, context-rich, and dynamic interactions across multiple communication channels (e.g., chatbots, voice assistants, virtual agents).
Work on designing interaction flows for autonomous agents that can act independently or semi-independently to complete tasks like lead qualification, customer support, or order processing.
Incorporate generative AI capabilities to enhance agentic behaviors, where the AI can offer proactive suggestions, autonomously solve problems, or take actions based on user needs and business rules.
Conduct user research to understand target audiences and tailor conversation flows to meet their needs.
Leverage expertise in natural language processing (NLP) to ensure conversational flows are intuitive, human-like, and contextually aware.
Incorporate tone, language style, and cultural nuances to personalize experiences across different customer segments and industries.
Continuously iterate on prompt designs based on feedback, performance analytics, and A/B testing to improve AI outcomes.
Collaborate on creating documentation, guidelines, and standards for conversation design and prompt writing for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure prompt templates align with UX best practices and contribute to the overall user journey design.
Work within agile teams, participating in sprints, reviews, and design critiques to ensure continuous alignment with evolving product goals. Qualifications:
Proven experience in conversation design, UX writing, or related fields, with a portfolio showcasing successful AI-driven projects.
Familiarity with AI technologies, including NLP, and an understanding of how AI is applied across industries such as sales, customer service, and commerce.
Strong ability to design effective conversation flows, user journeys, and scalable prompt templates.
Expertise in multimodal interaction design, working with text, voice, visual, and other sensory inputs to create rich user experiences.
Experience designing for autonomous agents that handle complex tasks and operate independently based on user input and business logic.
Ability to write in a clear, concise, and engaging style that aligns with brand voice and business objectives.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, particularly in agile environments.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decisions and optimize conversational designs.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with enterprise-level SaaS products is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in UX design, Human-Computer Interaction, Linguistics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
