Compensation & Location:

  • Location: Onsite in Torrance, CA
  • Pay Range: $50.00 $57.00 per hour, based on experience and internal equity
  • Schedule: Full-time, contract; long-term multi-year opportunity

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with deep expertise in software testing, test automation, and Agile methodologies. The successful candidate will take on both strategic planning and hands-on execution responsibilities, leading QA efforts across multiple projects while mentoring junior team members.

The ideal candidate will have 7 10 years of QA experience, with strong leadership skills, automation expertise (Selenium, JUnit, scripting languages), and preferably automotive industry testing experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic & Planning

  • Define quality standards, metrics, and test strategies (manual + automation).
  • Participate in sprint planning to ensure QA coverage.
  • Identify risks and create mitigation strategies.

Execution

  • Write and review test cases, scripts, and automation frameworks.
  • Conduct functional, performance, stress, and acceptance testing.
  • Track and report defects, ensuring resolution.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Attend daily standups, reporting QA status and blockers.
  • Update stakeholders on progress, quality metrics, and risks.
  • Work closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate and enhance QA tools, methodologies, and processes.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers to build a culture of quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 7 10 years of hands-on experience in QA and software testing (with leadership responsibilities).
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proficiency with test automation tools (Selenium, JUnit, etc.) and scripting languages (Python, Java).
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder presentations.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience testing automotive software systems (embedded systems, infotainment).
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE).
  • 3+ years of Big 4 consulting experience is preferred.
  • Stable work history with large enterprise organizations.
