Oracle DBA

Position: Oracle DBA Location: Washington, DC Durations: 6+ Months Contract No H1b
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support, maintain, and optimize enterprise-level Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will be based in or near Washington, DC, with strong hands-on experience in Oracle database management, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and troubleshooting in mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and administer Oracle 11g/12c/19c databases across multiple environments (DEV, QA, PROD).
Perform daily database monitoring, health checks, and maintenance activities.
Manage backup and recovery operations using RMAN and Data Guard.
Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing strategies, and resource management.
Conduct database upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning.
Ensure database security, user management, and compliance with organizational standards.
Collaborate with application teams to support development, testing, and deployment.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide 24/7 on-call support as needed.
Develop and maintain documentation, including SOPs, architecture diagrams, and configuration records.
Required Skills & Experience
5 10+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
Hands-on experience with database upgrades, migrations, and patching.
Understanding of PL/SQL, schema design, and stored procedures.
Experience supporting high-availability and large-scale Oracle deployments.
