Job Title: Process Operator/Crane
Location: Charlotte NC, 28273
Pay Rate: $20/hr - $22/hr
Duration: 12 Months + Possibility to extend
Overview: Set up and operate automated equipment and processes for various phases of transition manufacturing at Siemens. Work includes interpreting detailed drawings, blueprints, and specifications; performing setups; operating multiple machines; conducting inspections; and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Equipment & Phases
Phase 1: Robotic Grit Blast, Furnaces (air/vacuum), Robotic Coating Booths, Laser Hole Cutter, Cosmetic Grit Blast, Bar Code Readers, Etchers.
Phase 2: Robotic Trim Welder, Press, Vacuum Furnace, Manual Welders, Bar Code Readers.
Phase 3: Belt Sanders, Laser Cutters, Hermele Milling Machines, Plating Equipment, Hot Press Furnace, Vacuum Furnace, C-Scan, Bar Code Readers.
Responsibilities
Interpret manufacturing information to determine tools/methods for machining operations.
Load/unload materials using cranes, forklifts, and material handling devices.
Perform minor equipment operations (nozzle changes, oil checks, filter inspections).
Assist in training, handling, and measurements for co-workers.
Maintain work area and perform preventative maintenance.
Conduct in-process and integrity checks to maintain drawing tolerances.
Record operational data and assist quality team in measuring, testing, and charting results.
Operate machinery per Siemens procedures and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
2 3 years applied trades training; 2 4 years' relevant manufacturing experience.
Skilled with stainless alloys, blueprints, metrology, visual weld inspection, and electrical schematics.
Proficient with calipers, gauges, micrometers, measurement conversions, and computers.
Forklift, crane operator, and LPI certification (or ability to obtain).
U.S. or Canadian citizenship required.
Ability to work independently and solve complex manufacturing problems.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Plant/production setting with exposure to noise, dirt, oil, solvents, vibration, lasers, chemicals, odors, and fumes.
Requires bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting 5 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Manual dexterity for CNC/manual equipment; caution with sharp edges and flying debris.
PPE required: safety shoes, glasses, respirator, earplugs, gloves, hard hat, apron, protective clothing, mask.
Respirator fit, hearing, and vision tests may be required.
