Job Summary

The Enterprise Domain Architect defines and drives the enterprise-wide architecture vision, strategy, and framework with a strong focus on SAP. This includes SAP configuration, data models, and integrations to support our client's business objectives.

In addition to SAP, this role oversees architecture for corporate and IT applications (IT4IT), ensuring roadmaps and solutions align with business goals. The architect collaborates with business stakeholders, IT teams, and solution architects to build cohesive, scalable, and secure architectures leveraging SAP as a core platform.

This position also provides thought leadership on emerging technologies, leads proof-of-concept initiatives, and establishes governance standards to enable efficient and future-ready solutions. Success requires strategic vision, deep SAP expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to align technical solutions with business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture strategy focused on SAP configuration, data models, and integrations.
  • Oversee application and domain roadmaps for corporate and IT4IT systems, ensuring seamless SAP integration and strategic alignment.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions leveraging SAP and other platforms.
  • Develop and maintain high-level reference models, including SAP-specific data and application architecture.
  • Establish governance processes and enforce standards for applications, data, and integrations, leveraging SAP governance and IT4IT frameworks.
  • Lead architectural reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and policies.
  • Optimize technology landscape by improving SAP integrations, reducing redundancies, and enhancing accessibility.
  • Promote reuse of SAP components and integration patterns to improve efficiency and accelerate development.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., SAP BTP, cloud-native platforms, AI, IT4IT tools) through proof-of-concept initiatives to inform the roadmap.
  • Maintain architecture tools and repositories (e.g., SAP PowerDesigner, LeanIX, iServer) to support governance and portfolio management.
  • Guide domain, platform, and solution architects to ensure architectural alignment.
  • Drive the Architecture Community of Practice to foster collaboration and share trends and best practices.
  • Develop and document architecture standards and guidelines, including SAP- and IT4IT-specific best practices.
  • Communicate architecture strategies and business drivers clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage the application portfolio, identifying SAP upgrade needs, IT4IT enhancements, and new technology opportunities.
  • Support the Emergency Operation Plan (EOP) to ensure application and data availability during critical operations.
  • Provide guidance through review boards and influence design and implementation practices to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Identify and address areas for improvement in current architectures, incorporating enhancements into roadmaps.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master s preferred.
  • TOGAF certification required.
  • SAP and/or IT4IT certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate) highly preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • 12+ years of IT experience, including at least 7 years in enterprise architecture roles and 5+ years of hands-on SAP configuration, data modeling, and integrations.
  • Deep expertise in SAP (e.g., ECC, S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP PI/PO, CPI) and thorough understanding of SAP data models and business processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage enterprise roadmaps for SAP and IT4IT applications.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture best practices, governance, and integration standards, particularly within SAP environments.
  • Experience collaborating across business units, application teams, data, security, and infrastructure to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Proficiency with architecture tools (e.g., SAP PowerDesigner, LeanIX, iServer) and data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica).
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with SAP and IT4IT systems.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, or utility-specific regulations) in SAP contexts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic decision-making capability.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging diverse technical and business audiences.
  • Experience in electric and gas utilities or other regulated industries is highly advantageous.
