Summary
The Application Development Manager designs, builds, implements, and supports vendor-packaged and custom solutions to enhance Elevations Credit Union s core banking platform (Symitar) and enterprise applications. This role leads a team of developers, collaborates with business units and IT teams, and ensures delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with strategic goals using agile methodologies.
Essential Functions
Manage and supervise the core development team across scrum teams, overseeing resource planning and allocation.
Collaborate with the Enterprise PMO to ensure timely delivery and participate in stakeholder ceremonies.
Foster a team-oriented environment that promotes professional development, diversity, collaboration, and quality.
Lead design, development, and governance to deliver efficient, high-quality software solutions.
Drive continuous improvement in application management, analyzing user feedback and performance metrics.
Define design patterns, review code, and ensure compliance with coding and security standards.
Manage vendor relationships, staying informed on vendor roadmaps to maintain a robust application architecture.

Required Skills & Experience
4-year college degree or equivalent work experience; B.S. in Computer Science preferred.
6+ years experience with financial institution technologies (e.g., Jack Henry Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU, MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon).
Expertise in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
Proven leadership and people management skills, emphasizing coaching, mentoring, and team motivation.
Ability to influence executive leadership.
Knowledge of agile and iterative project management practices.
Preferred Skills & Experience
BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen development and integration.
Experience with IBM AIX operating system.
Proficiency in SQL, HTML, and JavaScript.
Knowledge of ITIL framework and engineering process implementation.
