ServiceNow Architect
Location: Chennai India - Remote
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Architect to lead the design, development, and strategic direction of our ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in ServiceNow along with strong experience working in nonprofit, financial services, or educational institutions. You will be responsible for translating organizational needs into scalable ServiceNow solutions, providing architectural governance, and driving best practices across the platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the technical lead and platform architect for ServiceNow implementations and enhancements across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and other modules.
Design and maintain a scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow architecture tailored to the unique needs of nonprofit, education, or financial sector operations.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand organizational goals and pain points, ensuring ServiceNow configurations align with business priorities.
Provide technical governance and enforce development standards, reusable code libraries, and architectural patterns.
Lead the evaluation and integration of ServiceNow applications, plugins, and third-party solutions (e.g., DocuSign, Workday, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, etc.).
Guide and mentor developers, admins, and junior architects across multiple projects.
Support roadmap planning and platform strategy with an eye toward service improvement, cost-effectiveness, and user experience.
Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and industry regulations relevant to the specific sector (FERPA, GDPR, PCI, HIPAA, etc.).
Partner with cross-functional teams including IT Security, PMO, HR, and Finance to streamline service delivery and automation.
Required Qualifications:
10 years of Professional IT Experience
6+ years of experience working with the ServiceNow platform, including at least 2 years in an architecture or solution design role.
Proven success delivering ServiceNow solutions in one or more of the following sectors:
Strong knowledge of ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Service Portal, Flow Designer, and scripting (JavaScript, Glide API).
Experience leading enterprise ServiceNow implementations or major upgrades.
Strong understanding of platform governance, technical debt management, and DevOps/integration pipelines (e.g., ATF, Git, CI/CD).
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to interface effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) - ITSM, HRSD, CSM, etc.
Certified Application Developer (CAD)
ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) - a strong plus.
Preferred Certifications
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Service Mapping
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
ITIL v4 Foundation
TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certification (advantage)
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with nonprofit compliance (e.g., 2 CFR 200), or financial/educational data standards (PCI, FERPA, etc.).
Experience integrating with third-party systems commonly used in nonprofit or educational orgs (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Ellucian, Banner, Workday).
